School Tip 01: Setting Your Priorities
It's on your mind: that upcoming test, that English essay, the science research paper, getting geography assignment in because it's already a day or two late. What about after-school curriculars, a job, or even a social life? It's a never ending juggling act. Here are some ways to help you stay on task.
WRITE IT DOWN. Invest in a notebook or go on a treasure hunt to actually use that old agenda that's sitting in your locker or in the wreckage probably known as "under-my-bed." Write down everything you know you have to do, even if it's not directly school related. Actually seeing it all in one place in front of you will help you visualize what you need to do.
KNOW THOSE DEADLINES. Those things you wrote earlier? Mark the deadlines on those things! This will help you prioritize what needs to be done. You can make deadlines that are coming soon stand out: write it out it bigger, make it bold, put a star beside it, underline it a couple of times--it's up to you!
MANAGE YOUR TIME, Now you can see what needs to be done and by when right in front of you. If you're using an agenda, use the weekly logs to input the deadlines. If not, write out the days of the week and put in those deadline. Now distrubute the work into the days of the week.
It's one thing to write things down, but it's another thing to actually do it. You could have the perfect agenda to how to get work done, but it'll mean nothing if you don't have the willpower to do it! Best of luck !
