Kevin's Taiyaki
Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped cake. The most common filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans. Other common fillings may be custard, chocolate, cheese, or sweet potato. (There isn't actually fish in these!)
Kevin's Taiyaki is located inside P.A.T Market(675 Bloor St W, Toronto) aka. Christie's Korea Town. You'll smell the sweet batter right when you walk in! Taiyaki is like soft waffles (but the edges are nice and crispy) with assorted filling options. We personally opt for custard filling, but sesame and red bean paste are available. (They're a little more unusual, but never hurts to try! but they're actually quite good too!) They cost about $2.50 for one, but you can get special prices if you buy packs of 4 or 6.
