A World Led by Fear
Our community has become so blind to the dark side of media! Media has manipulated our opinions with Fear. Fear is visible everywhere we look; like in newspaper articles, advertising, TV, and as well, in social networks! We have become so accustomed to being exposed to fear, thus, causing our youth to lose interest, imagination, and experience new things. The last decade or so, our generation has become too afraid to do or try new things; which we’re not meant for us to be afraid of! Like for instance, money. We are so afraid that if we do not have money, we will not have a future, family, belongings, or a life. Therefore, this has caused our generation to lose sight, of actually of what is actually important, like lack of food, shelter, friends and family.
As time progresses our generation keeps getting separated into groups. Society has established the poor, middle, and rich classes. These classes have all been established by the separation of money, and belongings. No one seems to understand, what is important anymore; since people only care for themselves, family and friends. Making it seem that the rest of the world can just suffer or die. Sadly, it got to this point due to many things, and one of them is fear. Our generation has been called “Culture of Fear and Separation” These fears include of being alone, abused, feeling useless, having no future, etc.
If you get to really think about the reason our generation has gotten to this point, it is because of separation and fear. We have all been separated into different hierarchy positions; either high or low; with the problem of no in-between. When separation occurs, we start to feel more fear. We even fear people in low places in life, like drug addicts, panhandlers, and worst of all it even creates more separation. Making us to always want to stay on top, to be and do better, without taking into consideration the effects this can cause onto others. Media has extremely influenced this with by reporting the high class and low class living. Since they are so different, and if this continues to occur, it will be the abandonment of our human race. We will live in a society; where no one cares or helps each other. Media is a powerful corporation, and has been getting worse in evoking fear into people lives; and like any big corporation, it can reach everyone, in many ways.
